In your own words, describe your book….
Phase One: Identify is book one in my young adult zombies series. It’s classified in the zombies genre, but it’s really so much more. It’s the story of Tabitha, a girl that is pretty innocent in the ways of life at 18. She has just graduated from high school, and she’s looking forward to her first summer as a grown up. It’s something we all looked forward when we were that age, right? The only difference is, she doesn’t get to have it, at least not in the way we might have. The future as she might have expected it is shattered, completely gone with the first zombie that slams against the glass of the grocery store. So Phase One: Identify is definitely a zombies story, but it’s so much more. It’s a coming of age story in a complete and dystopian world and showcases Tabitha, a young adult that is going to have to somehow come into her own. This is book one in the Territory of the Dead series, and I plan a total of seven or eight releases with this series, so you can expect a lot of action… And then a lot of the unexpected.
What is the genre?
Zombies Book Series, Young Adult Romance, Dystopian Book Series, and Urban Fantasy Book Series
I haven’t out right classified this as a romance, but there will definitely be that as well.
What inspired you to write this book?
That’s a really good question. I love zombies, and I love realistic, real-world characters. Tabitha was the result:-) This zombies series is going to be different than others out there because it will focus on this 18 year old girl as she gets her first kiss, her first romance, her first love triangle, all while trying to stay alive. There are a lot of darker aspects underneath this storyline. Things aren’t what they seem in Pleasant, and neither are some of the people.
Will this book be a standalone or part of the series?
A definite series. Too much is going on Pleasant for this to ever be just a few books. This will actually be a big series.
What message would you like to convey with this book?
First, if a zombies slams into the glass, RUN! (Just Kidding) I think with this series, my message would be stay open-minded and put yourself in their shoes. The line between right and wrong can get pretty blurred when mortal survivors are few and nobody knows if they’ll live beyond that day.
What books are similar to this one?
Any zombies series would be, simply because they share the zombies factor. Day of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead, World War Z, The Walking Dead, it’s all zombies. The actual plot line is completely unique.
